Jason Jordan has been dealing with an injury that has held him out of the ring for the past several weeks, but it could be a lot more serious than initially expected.

It was first rumored that Jordan was suffering from a back injury. Now Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Jordan is actually dealing with a neck injury, and it's a lot more serious than initially expected.

Meltzer noted that Jordan is actually having trouble with the grip in his hands, which is a very serious condition when it comes to one's health. WWE has done its best job to keep him protected to avoid further injury.

His in-ring work has been very limited and the RAW Tag Team Titles were just taken away from Rollins and Jordan at the Royal Rumble. As a matter of fact, Jordan's Rumble performance makes a lot more sense now.

Jordan left Rollins to take on The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro) on his own as he sat ringside and sold an injury. As a result, Rollins was defeated and the pair lost their RAW Tag Team Titles.

As of late Jordan has been pulled from live events and his future is currently up in the air. He was originally scheduled to appear in the Elimination Chamber match later this month, but now it's unclear if he'll remain in the match after the injury.

This also helps explain why Jordan wasn't an entrant in the 30-man Royal Rumble match either. Hopefully Jordan's injury is handled with care and he isn't rushed back into the ring. Neck injuries are very serious and can be detrimental to one's future health.

It's ironic, however, that Jordan is dealing with a neck injury as his storyline father, WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle, has a long history with bad neck injuries. Angle legitimately won an Olympic Gold Medal with "a broken freaking neck."
