Notts County manager Steve Cotterill urged his side to go on and win the League Two title after they thrashed Morecambe 4-1 to seal automatic promotion.

The Magpies remain a point ahead of second-placed Rochdale, who also secured promotion on Saturday, after Lee Hughes scored twice and Ben Davies and Ricky Ravenhill were also on target at Meadow Lane.

And Cotterill said: "I want to congratulate the team and the supporters for their efforts but we've not completed the job yet."

He continued: "We've got five games remaining and I want to do as well as we can in those.

"My feet are firmly on the ground and I don't want to be walking around with my head in the clouds because my players will mirror that. We need to stay focused because there is nothing like winning the league.

"I thought we scored four superb goals but I'm disappointed we've conceded two sloppy goals in the last two games."
