Kenedy joined Newcastle United on loan from Chelsea last week and he's already made a huge impression in the north-east.

“For sure we are talking about a young player with great potential" said Antonio Conte. "At this moment in his career he needs to play with regularity and I think going to Newcastle is a great challenge for him.

“It is a great way for the club, we used same way for Christensen. Now he starts for Chelsea. It is a great opportunity [for Kenedy] but he knows that he has to be ready to fight to play for Newcastle."

The 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder won a penalty and bagged an assist on his debut against Burnley and Rafa Benitez praised his new signing after the 1-1 draw.

“Kenedy has to improve his match fitness, but in terms of the quality he has – good deliveries and good passes – he’s giving us something, and hopefully he will give us more.”

The young Chelsea starlet was back in the Newcastle XI for Sunday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Kenedy played a major role in Mo Diame's opening goal, delivering the corner which caused havoc in the Palace defence.

Benitez had questioned Kenedy's fitness after his debut but it was still a major surprise to see Newcastle's most dangerous attacking player taken off in the 56th minute in his second appearance for the Magpies.

What Chelsea fans were saying about him

Fellow Chelsea loanee Michy Batshuayi had a dream debut for Borussia Dortmund and plenty of fans are getting frustrated.

Chelsea supporters on social media were tweeting whilst watching Kenedy rip apart the Crystal Palace defence.

The skilful Brazilian winger - who was being used as a left wing back at Stamford Bridge -  had started just one Premier League game since April 2016.

Check out some of the tweets from irritated Chelsea fans below.

Chelsea fans will certainly be watching next week when Kenedy and Newcastle welcome Manchester United.
