Its been a rough road for Jason Jordan's WWE career as of late, as he recently suffered an injury that forced him to undergo surgery.

Jordan started off as a prime Tag Team player on SmackDown Live alongside Chad Gable, as the pair formed American Alpha. The former NXT stars won the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles before Jordan was selected to be in one of the biggest storylines of 2017.

Over on Monday Night RAW it was revealed that General Manager and WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle had a storyline illegitimate son from a relationship in high school. Jordan was selected to play the role of Angle's son and was thus moved to RAW.

After boosting his singles career by sharing the ring with Superstars such as John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman, he was later paired up back in a tag team with Seth Rollins.

Dean Ambrose suffered an injury that sidelined him for several months, leaving a void alongside Rollins who was in need of a partner.

Their first night teaming up together, Rollins and Jordan captured the RAW Tag Team Titles. Unfortunately, sometime along the way he suffered a neck injury that limited his ability to perform inside the ring.

WWE was protecting Jordan by writing storylines that wouldn't allow to avoid wrestling or taking bumps. He was recently sent home by Kurt Angle in a storyline until he can get medically cleared to compete again.

It was also announced by WWE officially that Jordan underwent a minimally invasive surgery to help repair the issue. No timetable was given for his return to the ring.

Per a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jordan's injury has some impact on the Elimination Chamber match later this month. The original plan had both Rollins and Jordan being a part of the match.

This was being done to set up a WrestleMania match between the pair. Neither man are now expected to be a part of the match in light of the injury. As for Jordan vs. Rollins at WrestleMania, Meltzer said it’s “not a dead issue."

Nothing will be ruled out until Jordan's return time is confirmed.
