Out of all the teams in the NBA on trade deadline day, the Cleveland Cavaliers were the busiest, and rightfully so when you consider their current position in the Eastern Conference needed to be changed quickly for them to stand a chance in the playoffs. In total, the Cavaliers made three trades on deadline day. They were part of a three-team trade with the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings to acquire Rodney Hood and George Hill while trading Iman Shumpert, Jae Crowder, Derrick Rose, and a 2020 second-round pick.Cleveland also sent Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye and a 2018 first-round draft pick to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr, and they also traded Dwyane Wade to the Miami Heat in exchange for a 2024 second-round pick. These were moves which the Cavaliers needed to make, as while they no longer have an elite team, they have now built a team that has a strong future which could also potentially still stay competitive at the top of the Eastern Conference.Thomas reflected on his short time of just 15 games in Cleveland by saying in a tweet after he was traded: "It was only 15 games, but still an experience that I’m grateful for. Thank you to the Cleveland Cavaliers organization for granting me the opportunity to rock the wine and gold this season. God bless and see you on the other side."He followed this tweet up quickly with another focusing ahead to the future with the Lakers by saying: "The Marathon Continues! #LakeShow #ThatSLOWgrind."Wade, on the other hand, posted out a video thanking the Cavaliers fan base and their organization for their support while he was there, but overall, he's excited that himself and his family get to move back home to Miami.

Out of the two, Wade is the real winner of his trade as he gets to go back to the team that he loves the most in the Heat, where he will likely finish his career. Miami loves him just as equally back, so it's nice to see the Cavaliers do the right thing for the 36-year-old.

Thomas is, unfortunately, the biggest loser out of all the trades which the Cavaliers made on deadline day, as he will be playing his contract year at the Lakers and he might not even be given the opportunity to start since Magic Johnson has said Lonzo Ball will start at point guard.

We'll have to watch to see if Thomas is able to give himself any more value between now and the end of the season for other teams in the NBA to invest in him, as his future definitely isn't with the Lakers.
