Brighton will be without Inigo Calderon and Kazenga LuaLua when they host Bristol Rovers.

Spanish defender Calderon will not play again this season after suffering a hip injury against Southend last week which could sideline him for three months.

Arsenal loanee Gavin Hoyte is likely to return to the starting line-up at right-back.

Loan winger LuaLua has gone back to parent club Newcastle for treatment on the hamstring injury he sustained at Gillingham a fortnight ago.

Ashley Barnes came in for LuaLua and will keep his place after hitting the only goal at Southend.

Striker Gary Hart is back in the treatment room with a hamstring problem and defender Colin Hawkins (Achilles) and goalkeeper Michel Kuipers (broken finger) are still missing.

Bristol Rovers duo Jo Kuffour and Byron Anthony are major doubts.

Top scorer Kuffour is struggling with a hamstring injury picked up in the goalless draw with Brentford while Anthony has a hip problem which saw him miss the game with the Bees. Both players will face late fitness checks.

Dominic Blizzard is definitely out with a hamstring injury sustained in the 5-1 home defeat to Southampton on April 13.

Defender Steve Elliott remains sidelined with medial ligament damage and looks likely to miss the rest of the season.

Rovers are without a win in three games, a run which has seen them drop out of the play-off picture.
