Stockport midfielder Matty Mainwaring is out of the game with Huddersfield while Johnny Mullins is facing a race against time to be fit.
Mainwaring suffered a broken wrist in training on Wednesday having only recently made his comeback from a broken leg and will miss the rest of the season.
Defender Mullins has missed the last two games with a back injury and will face a late fitness test to determine whether he will be available for selection.
Greg Tansey will sit out the last three games of the campaign as he continues to recover from a torn thigh muscle.
The relegated Hatters have only picked up two points from their last 11 games and are looking for their first win since the 4-3 victory over Wycombe at the end of February.
Huddersfield have Dean Heffernan available for the trip.
The left-back missed last Friday's 1-0 victory over promotion rivals Millwall with a dead leg but resumed training earlier this week.
Lee Peltier returned from an ankle injury to take over from Heffernan against the Lions although Tom Clarke also impressed when stepping in for Peltier in the previous game against Walsall.
Lee Novak has made two substitute appearances following his recovery from a knee injury and will be pushing for a start but he will face stiff competition from in-form strikers Theo Robinson and Jordan Rhodes.
Fellow striker Robbie Simpson continues to struggle with a long-term thigh problem while midfielder Michael Collins is still recovering from a broken finger as the Terriers look to consolidate their place in the play-off places.
