Chelsea captain Gary Cahill was dropped by Antonio Conte on Monday night following humiliating defeats to Bournemouth and Watford. The Blues conceded seven goals in their last two Premier League fixtures but bounced back with a 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge over West Brom.Belgian winger Eden Hazard scored two brilliants goals to save Conte's job - and Victor Moses was on the scoresheet too."Of course we showed a response and did well in front of our fans," Hazard said to Sky Sports after Chelsea’s win against the Baggies."It’s always good to play this type of game and now we have two games against Hull and Barca. We are ready."It was not a good moment for us because we lost two games but now we are back, we are Chelsea, we are champions and we have to give everything."Adored by the Chelsea supporters, Cesar Azpilicueta was given the captain's armband in Cahill's absence from the first XI.

What Gary Cahill did after being subbed on

Plenty of Chelsea fans on social media spotted what the 32-year-old defender did immediately after replacing Andreas Christensen in the 74th minute.

Club legend John Terry was the previous captain at Chelsea and he was massively respected by the Stamford Bridge faithful.

Fans on Twitter suggested that Terry, unlike Cahill, would never have run over to take the captain's armband after coming off the bench.

The Chelsea fans don't seem to be behind their captain anymore.

In 2013, Terry attempted to refuse the captain's armband from Frank Lampard when coming off the bench under Rafa Benitez.

“Let’s not forget, we’re in three competitions and we have important targets in all of them,” Cahill wrote in his matchday programme notes.

“We’ve had two really disappointing games in a row, but that doesn’t define the season by any means and we are already looking forward to putting things right.

“We’ve got three big games starting with tonight’s, all of them at home, under lights.

“And with the right results, the mood can change completely."

Chelsea face Hull on Friday night in the FA Cup before welcoming Barcelona to Stamford Bridge in the Champions League on February 20.
