By now, it should come as no surprise to football fans that Gary Lineker is a massive fan of Barcelona legend, Lionel Messi.Messi is a five-time Ballon d'Or winner and he has scored a ridiculous 534 goals in 619 games for the Catalan giants. The Argentine has eight La Liga titles in his pocket and four Champions League triumphs to boot and he's more than in the conversation for the greatest of all-time.The fact that he is 30-years-old and shows no signs of letting up his standing at the top of the game is pretty remarkable, too.The forward has 27 goals in 36 games thus far this season and he has guided Barca to a seven-point lead at the top of La Liga. With Barca's clash against Chelsea in the knockout stages of the Champions League on the horizon, Messi was captured in training for the Blaugrana. What he was doing to some of his teammates - some of the finest players in world football - is a testament to exactly how good he is.And it prompted Lineker to say something about it. Take a look at the insane video below:

Although Lineker - a former Barcelona striker himself - has no problem finding superlatives for Messi, he doesn't think he is the best player of all-time.

That title is reserved for his compatriot and former national team manager, Diego Maradona.

Lineker told Goal: "I think yes, he’s [Messi] still the best. When I speak to most footballers, they say the same.

"We are blessed to live in a time with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi. They are different kinds of players, of course. Ronaldo is wonderful, prolific and I love watching him play. Messi, to me, brings joy."

"Diego has been the best player without a doubt, better than Pele," said Lineker.

"He could do things with his left foot that nobody else could do.

"The second goal that Maradona scored against England in Mexico was the best goal ever.

"That was the first time in my career that I almost applauded on the pitch something the opposition had done because it was a really good goal.
