Ipswich boss Roy Keane has refused to rule out a possible summer move for Nicky Butt.

The 35-year-old, who lifted the Coca-Cola Championship trophy after Newcastle's 2-2 draw with Ipswich on Saturday, recently confirmed he will leave the Magpies when his contract expires this summer.

Keane told Sky Sports: "Nicky Butt won't retire, I`m pretty sure of that. I think he can still play at a pretty high level but whether that`s the Premier League, it`s up to Nicky. Would I want him at Ipswich? His sort of experience is what we`ve lacked this season so we`ll see."

He added: "As long as you can still play, play as long as you can. There are plenty of years for coaching."

When asked about Ipswich`s interest, Butt added: "Maybe yeah. Coaching is definitely something I want to do - I don`t want to leave football. I`ve a few offers to play at other places."
