Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Dutch youngster Bob Schepers.

The 18-year-old winger has been monitored by a string of Premier League clubs, and now Manchester United are thought to have joined the race for Schepers after sending scouts to watch the teenager last week.

Agent Patrick van Diemen admitted that Everton, Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers were considering moves back in February, with the British media now reporting that the Toffees also sent scouts to watch the SC Cambuur starlet last weekend in an Eerste Divisie match against RBC Roosendaal.

Schepers made his senior debut at the Cambuur Stadion at the end of the 2008-09 campaign, and has made six league appearances for his club side so far this season.

At international level, Schepers has featured regularly for the U17 side at major tournaments, and is expected to continue the rise through the youth setup.

His performances have attracted the interest of Holland in his homeland, but The Sun reports that Sir Alex Ferguson has taken a keen interest in the youngster.

Schepers signed a new three-year contract for his club at the end of last term, but this is unlikely to affect the Old Trafford boss should he wish to make a move for the midfield talent.
