Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker’s sparring partners have been revealed as preparations for their world heavyweight bout step up.

Joshua has drafted in Marlo Moore, a young prospect with only fight to his name. However, that fight did end in victory.

South Auckland’s Parker is due to get in the training ring with Tony Yoka, a Frenchman and Olympic gold medalist.

The two will assist Joshua and Parker in reaching a readiness to enter the ring as sharp as possible on March 31.

The two heavyweights are battling it out in a unification fight, with the winner likely to go onto face American Deontay Wilder.

"Yes, in two or three weeks to prepare him for his championship [fight] against Joshua," Yoka told Sky Sports News when asked about sparring Parker.

"Actually my teammate in the gym, Marlo Moore, went to Joshua's training camp in Sheffield. I'm going to the other side."

It seems as if Parker, as underdog, has predictably chosen the tougher sparring partner.

America's Moore, 27, failed to qualify for Rio 2016, while Yoka, 25, won the gold medal for France, memorably defeating Britain's Joe Joyce in the final.

Though two years younger, he's also more experienced than Moore, having had three professional fights (3-0).

It’s perhaps no surprise that Yoka has been chosen to partner Parker, as the former beat the New Zealander to gain the gold medal in the youth Olympics in 2010, perhaps having earned the heavyweight’s respect in doing so.

Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker go head-to-head in a world heavyweight title unification fight at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff, on March 31.

With the fight still over a month away, there is plenty of time for more drama to unfold, but now with the sparring partners revealed, the hard work will surely begin.
