Preston youngster offered pro deal

Preston youth-team prospect Jamie Douglas has been offered a 12-month professional contract after returning from a cruciate knee ligament injury.

The 17-year-old last featured for the Lilywhites in a 5-1 reserve league victory over Middlesbrough when he scored twice. He has since been battling his way back to fitness and has impressed sufficiently to secure a deal.

Director of Youth Dean Ramsdale said: "He's played a few reserve games, he's scored a number of goals and that's what attracted me to him."
