This longtime star’s future has been made public.

Mark Henry is that star. He has been with the company since 1996 after being named “The World's Strongest Man.” He was just 24-years of age when he decided to get into the pro wrestling business.

His first big run came in 1998 when he joined the Nation of Domination with Farooq, The Rock, Kama Mustafa, and D'Lo Brown.

Later down the line, Henry turned into a fan favorite and was seen on television romancing WWE women from Chyna to Mae Young as part of the "Sexual Chocolate" character.

In 2000, he was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) to improve his conditioning and wrestling skills. After two years away from the main roster, he returned to WWE TV as part of a member of the SmackDown live brand and rose up the ranks throughout the years.

During his time with the company, he held three championships. The WWE World Heavyweight Title, ECW Title, and European Title. He was also a three-time Slammy Award winner.

Dave Meltzer reported on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio that Henry pretty much retired as an active performer.

If you recall, Henry hinted that he will be wrapping up his career as an in-ring performer in WWE soon. The WWE Network aired a new episode of "Table For 3" last year after WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle’s exclusive interview with Jason Jordan ended.

The episode featured Henry and WWE Hall of Famers Ron Simmons and The Godfather. During the show, Henry dropped a bombshell by revealing a bit of information regarding what's to come in his WWE career.

The longtime Superstar officially announced that his 21-year in-ring career is soon coming to an end. He will transition from being a WWE Superstar to a WWE employee in the next few months. Henry said that he's looking forward to helping all of the up-and-coming male and female talent develop and become successful in the company.

PWinsider.com is reporting that Henry’s days as an active in-ring performer is over and that he is not expected to return to the ring even though he’s under contract with the sports entertainment company.

Henry recently spoke with 6 ABC Action News (transcript via Wrestlinginc.com) and explained his current role with WWE. Here is what he had to say:

“For the most part, my whole deal right now is trying to bring more awareness to the WWE, it's charities, [and] its programs. Travel the world and introduce our business to people that don’t have the WWE. Our developmental franchise, NXT, I scout. There’s guys in the company now: Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin, [and] Apollo Crews that I’ve helped cultivate, ya know and say, ‘Hey, that guy can do something. Bring him in.'”
