Manchester United got back on track on Saturday as two goals from Romelu Lukaku fired them into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The 2-0 win at Huddersfield Town, who they've already lost to this season, was exactly what was required ahead of Wednesday's trip to Sevilla in the Champions League.

All the talk before the match surrounded Paul Pogba, his best position and his relationship with Jose Mourinho, but the Frenchman missed United's cup win due to illness.

Michael Carrick captaining the side resulted in a slightly different role for Nemanja Matic, with the summer signing deployed on the left (rather than middle) of a midfield three.

This gave the big Serbian more license to attack, however there was one moment during the match in which his decision-making certainly didn't please Anthony Martial.

How did Matic anger Martial?

After winning back possession in the middle of the park, Matic drove forwards at Huddersfield's backline and was looking for runs from United's attacking players.

Martial, who replaced Alexis Sanchez in the 75th-minute, was unmarked and in acres of space on the left-wing, yet Matic decided to attempt a through ball to Jesse Lingard.

Martial wasn't happy with Matic's choice of pass, given that Lingard appeared to be offside before the ex-Chelsea man had even decided to play the ball to him.

As Matic ran back into position, a frustrated Martial caught his attention, so much so that the 29-year-old actually ran towards the Frenchman before engaging in a pretty heated argument.

Here is the passage of play and the exchange of words that followed:

Fans react - Did Martial have a point?

As one Man United fan on Twitter pointed out, Martial had a right to be disappointed with Matic, since Lingard was running offside - check out some reaction below:

Martial's reaction was also probably a result of the fact that the incident occurred in the 81st-minute, and he was desperate to make an impression before the final whistle blowed.

The substitute has scored 11 goals for Man United so far this season and will hoping for a recall to Mourinho's starting XI for the European tie against Sevilla.
