There was one name on the lips of every boxing fan following Saturday night’s event at the Manchester Arena - and it wasn’t George Groves or Chris Eubank Jr.Naseem Hamed, one of British boxing’s greatest ever showmen, produced one of the most extraordinary punditry performances that any of us have ever witnessed. But put it this way: if ITV Box Office, or any other broadcaster for that matter, invite him back to cover future events it’ll be a surprise.Hamed, who turned 44 last week, did not hold back in the aftermath of Groves’ victory over Eubank Jr.At one point he even called on Eubank Jr to retire from boxing, much to the shock and amusement of viewers."This guy is not on the level he thinks he is, he's in a dream land,” Hamed said. "I know this sounds terrible but i think he should finish. I don't think he’s a hard puncher; in this game you need a get out of jail card, you need to be able to put them away and smash them up."He threw the kitchen sink at George Groves but he didn't do anything, not even when George has a dislocated shoulder."Hamed was trending on Twitter after the fight and no wonder with outlandish statements like that.

What a performance from Naz

If this is the last we’ve seen of Hamed in his role as a pundit, then what a way to bow out.

Hopefully we’ll see more of him in the future - but will any broadcaster be brave enough to hire him again after last night’s hilarious performance?

Naz, we salute you.
