Donald Cerrone brought his three-fight losing streak to an end on Sunday night at UFC Austin when he defeated Yancy Medeiros inside the Octagon in the main event of the show.Prior to last night, The Cowboy had lost his last three fights making 2017 a year to forget for arguably the busiest fighter in UFC, losing to Jorge Masvidal, Robbie Lawler, and Darren Till in the same calendar year.Cerrone finally broke his losing streak with a win against Medeiros at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas on Sunday night, winning the fight via TKO through punches, his first win in over 14 months. The win came with two seconds left in the first round at UFC Austin, as Cerrone punched Medeiros to the canvas before striking more blows to his opponent before the referee Herb Dean stepped in to stop the fight. Not only did the victory snap The Cowboy's losing streak which had lasted since he defeated Matt Brown at UFC 206 in December 2016, but it was his 20th career UFC win, which ties him with Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping for the most wins in UFC history. After the fight, Cerrone revealed he still has big ambitions for his UFC career, as he confirmed he intends to move back to 155 pounds. He also called out Khabib Nurmagomedov and said he wants to go after the UFC Lightweight title, as he stated: "I want 155, I wanna go get that belt. Khabib, I'm coming. I'm coming. I ain't scared to fight you."

Cerrone vs Nurmagomedov would be a fight that many UFC fans would love to see, but first, the undefeated Russian must beat interim UFC Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson at UFC 223 on April 7. UFC needs to decide if Conor McGregor still holds the lightweight title as well.

The Eagle may have to fight two or three more times to get his hands on the title and knock off any other contenders before he can meet The Cowboy inside the Octagon. That might be enough time for the American to climb his way up the rankings to earn himself a title fight.
