Will Grigg will never have to buy a drink in Wigan again after his goal knocked Manchester City out of the FA Cup.The Premier League outfit were stunned in the fifth round when Grigg scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at the DW Stadium, their third consecutive win over City in the FA Cup.It was a thrilling evening that included a red card, a spat between the managers and a pitch invasion at full-time. Who said the FA Cup is dead? The spat between Paul Cook and Pep Guardiola kicked off when Fabian Delph was shown a red card by referee Anthony Taylor for a challenge on Max Power.Guardiola was furious at the decision and let his feelings known by arguing with his counterpart on the touchline and in the tunnel at half-time.Man City pushed in search of a goal but they were undone when Grigg capitalised on an error by Kyle Walker and nearly slotted the ball past Claudio Bravo in the 79th minute. The Citizens pushed desperately for an equaliser that eluded them and their dreams are slashed from winning the quadruple to winning the treble.

Sergio Aguero clashed with Wigan fan at full-time

Emotions ran high at full-time and it culminated in a clash between Sergio Aguero and a Wigan supporter on the pitch.

The Argentinian striker used an arm to hit the fan out of his way and there are now calls for the FA to take action against him.

What Alan Shearer said about the incident

The pundits on BBC - Alan Shearer, Roberto Martinez and Joleon Lescott - didn’t go into great detail about the incident, partly because it wasn’t clear what sparked Aguero’s reaction.

“You don’t know what he’s done to Sergio, or what he’s said to him,” Shearer said. “It’s not nice when the fans come on the pitch and say stuff to you so let’s hope everyone’s OK.”

One fan criticised Shearer for his comments

One fan wasn’t happy with Shearer’s response, seeing it as the Newcastle United legend justifying Aguero’s behaviour.

“@alanshearer: ‘you don’t know what he’s said to Aguero’ 🤣🤣🤣 🤣 so that warrants assault, honestly having a mare tonight,” came the message from Twitter user @albertlad.

Shearer responded

Shearer delivered a mightily professional response to the tweet, which has since been deleted.

“You don’t know what was said or done to him,” he wrote. “Maybe he was protecting himself?

“Until we know I didn't feel it was my position to judge. What I do know 100% is that fans shouldn’t be on the pitch.”
