Nobody thought it would be League One side Wigan who would finally provide the answer to the question: ‘Will Manchester City do the quadruple this season?’Will Grigg scored the only goal of the FA Cup clash between the two sides, meaning the best Pep Guardiola can now hope for is a treble. But the fall-out from the shock loss is set to rumble on for days to come.Guardiola was seen raging at both Wigan boss Paul Cook and referee Anthony Taylor in the tunnel at half-time following Fabian Delph’s red card just minutes earlier. But Guardiola might not be the only person getting in trouble for their reaction on Monday night. That’s because, after the final whistle blew, Sergio Aguero was seen striking a Wigan fan in the head after the home fans had invaded the pitch. It certainly wasn’t a clean punch but it’s something that could land him in hot water.According to The Times, Aguero has told his friends that he was spat at - something which certainly explains his actions.

PIERS MORGAN'S TWEET

And one man that is fully behind Aguero’s behaviour is Piers Morgan. He took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to explain what the Argentine should have done - hit the “thug much harder."

“I’m disgusted by Aguero - he should have hit that vile little thug much harder,” Morgan wrote.

FOOTBALL FANS REACT

Controversial to say the least.

And football fans didn’t entirely agree with Morgan’s views. Check out the reaction:

Of course, we don’t know exactly what happened between the fan in question and Aguero but the FA will no doubt want to get to the bottom of it.

But questions must also be asked of the security at the DW Stadium, who allowed thousands of fans onto the pitch at the end of the match.

STONES ON THE AGUERO INCIDENT

And Man City defender John Stones has admitted that it wasn’t nice to see.

“It is never nice to see that happen if the opposition team is on the end of it, but we were on the end of it this time,” Stones said. “Obviously the home fans were coming onto the pitch. It is never nice to see.

"I don't want that to take away from the game. I thought we were dominant and should have come out with something else.

“It was a big night, as you could see the fans were on the pitch at the end, which I personally don't like seeing for any team.

“It is never good. But they have won the game. I am a bit lost for words. I'm massively disappointed we have not gone to the next round.”

City will now have to pick themselves up for the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal on Sunday - or else they might find themselves staring at a double, rather than a quadruple.

As for Aguero, we wait to discover the truth about whether or not he was spat at by the fan and if he faces any punishment for his actions.
