Preston defender set for showdown talks

Preston defender Youl Mawene is set to speak to the club about his future with his contract due to expire at the end of June.

North End boss Darren Ferguson has already announced that 12 players will leave Deepdale this summer.

Winger Chris Sedgwick and defender Liam Chilvers' contracts end on June 30 and these will not be renewed, while loanees Elliott Ward and Tom Williams will return to Coventry and Peterborough respectively.

Players currently out on loan - Eddie Nolan, Stephen Elliott, Neill Collins and Neal Trotman - have all been placed on the transfer list.

They are joined by Michael Hart, Richard Chaplow, Darren Carter and Neil Mellor, who have all been told they can leave.
