Arsenal look set to bid for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart to replace error-prone Lucasz Fabianski.

Despite defending his young Polish keeper’s performance against Blackburn Rovers, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has recently admitted shortcomings of Fabianski and current number one Manuel Almunia.

Hart, currently on loan at Birmingham City, is valued highly by City who are expected to put up a fight to keep him as Shay Given looks likely to miss the start of next season with a shoulder injury.

Gianluigi Buffon

Another option for Wenger could be to work on a deal to bring Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon to the Emirates.

The Italian stopper has recently stated that his preferred destination should he leave Turin would be the Premier League, news which has alerted both Arsenal and Manchester United.

Buffon told Italy’s Sky Sport 24: “If I had to leave, I think England would be my destination.

“My desire to leave Juve is equal to that of Juve’s will to have me leave,” he added.
