Nikola Jokic is in the midst of an incredible tear for the Denver Nuggets and he showed he hasn't been slowed down by the All-Star break as he produced another brilliant display against the San Antonio Spurs. The Serbian inspired the Nuggets to a 122-119 win on Friday night, which was their fourth straight victory and the second over the Spurs during this stretch.Jokic posted his third consecutive triple-double with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. He also enjoyed the feat against San Antonio earlier this month. This latest triple-double put him in elite company as he joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history at 6'10" or taller to post three in succession.

The 22-year-old's latest display came on the back of a historic performance against the Milwaukee Bucks in Denver's final game before the break.

He recorded the fastest triple-double in NBA history after notching it in just 16 minutes. The center now has six for the season and 12 in his young career.

After the game, head coach Mike Malone said his young star isn't getting the recognition he deserves and believes he should be put in the same category as the league's best players.

"He's not an All-Star, he's not in the MVP conversation, but when you look at his numbers that guy should be an All-Star. He should be in the MVP conversation," Malone said, per ESPN.

"He is one of the best all-around players in the game. He's one of the best players in the NBA right now, and he's proving it against the best teams and the best players every single night."

In February, Jokic is averaging 23.4 points, 11 rebounds, and 10.4 assists and is playing the best basketball of his career so far.

It's clear he's showing a real improvement and something seems to have clicked into gear for him to elevate his game to this level. But he doesn't believe he's doing anything differently.

"I'm playing the (same) way I was playing when I came here," Jokic said.

The win keeps the Nuggets firmly in the playoff hunt as they sit in sixth with a 33-26 record in the Western Conference.

But there are only a few games separating the teams at the lower end of the playoff positions and the Colorado-based franchise will have to keep a level of consistency to secure a postseason berth in the stacked west.
