It was yet another dark moment in a dismal season for Arsenal football club.

The Gunners arrived at Wembley to face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final with optimism, but come the final whistle at England's national stadium, they had been well and truly humiliated.

Pep Guardiola's side romped to a convincing 3-0 win, with Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva - City's old guard - all getting on the scoresheet.

The opening goal came courtesy of a disgraceful error from Shkodran Mustafi, with Arsenal's defence and midfield all turning in woeful displays.

January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang didn't exactly do much up top, but to be fair to the Gabon striker, he literally had to feed off of scraps.

The only player who appeared to show any passion or drive was Jack Wilshere, who was easily Arsenal's best player on the day - although, that wasn't a hard feat.

Gary Neville in Sky Sports' commentary was absolutely livid with the majority of Arsenal's players, with Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil all feeling the sting of his criticism.

And, the former Manchester United man made a great point in commentary, one which really reflects how poorly run the football club is right now.

NEVILLE'S TRUTH BOMB

Neville brought up the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, saying: “He’s more of what Arsenal have already got. He’s not going to get in that changing room and pull them around.”

And that's exactly it.

The Armenian midfielder was missing due to being cup-tied, but even if he were there, he probably would have had zero impact.

Arsenal and Arsene Wenger need leaders and fast.
