The World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) has produced a lot of talking points. Two knockout tournaments at cruiserweight and super-middleweight have been a breath of fresh air and have treated fans to huge contests at both weights before the finals have even taken place. Last Saturday saw a colossal all-British showdown between George Groves and Chris Eubank Jr, and the fight itself thrilled a sold-out Manchester Arena, but that wasn't all that entertained viewers. ITV Box Office provided a different panel of experts to review the fight, and one of those was the consistently outspoken Prince Naseem Hamed."Naz" gained himself a reputation as an entertainer both in and out of the ring, when battling his way to becoming world featherweight champion. When talking about Eubank Jr's semi-final defeat by unanimous decision to Groves, he didn't let viewers down and provided a brutal assessment of the losing fighter.

His harsh comments went viral and many have had their say as to whether he overstepped the mark.

Speaking after Callum Smith's victory in the other super-middleweight semi, Eddie Hearn gave an honest assessment of the former Sheffield fighter's outlandish comments.

When asked what he thought of Naz's analysis, Hearn replied: "Well you've just got to be careful, that it don't get silly.

Watch the interview below, and Hearn's comments about Hamed begin at 5:50.

"Because the first one was off the cuff, it was really funny. But you don't want him to be the clown who has to say something controversial.

"You know what I mean? Like he's got to speak his mind. Now he's under pressure to do it all the time, so viewers will be like "Go on Naz, say something mental". But he knows his boxing, so one week he might not do anything mental and people will be like "Oh Naz, that was rubbish! You didnt say anything controversial."

Despite the harsh nature of Hamed's comments, Hearn like many, saw the funny side and was asked what his favourite Naz line was.

"You're either good at boxing or you're not.

"Or the one where he says [about Chris Eubank Jr], 'you know what, I think he should just finish'. Not quit, finish.

"I don't even think Naz meant it, I dont know."

The WBSS super-middleweight final will be another all-British bout between Callum Smith and George Groves. The fight has been originally pencilled in for June 2, but injuries to both Smith and Groves have casted doubts as to whether a June fight is achievable.

Whenever it takes place, it would be foolish to not let Prince Naseem have his say on the contest.
