After months of speculation, Emre Can's future at Liverpool is still unresolved.

It has been widely reported that the German's contract with his current employers is set to run out in the summer, and Can seems reluctant to sign an extension.

Having proven himself as a very good Premier League player in the past few years, Can will surely have no shortage of suitors, and has been linked with a number of Europe's top clubs in the past few months.

Jurgen Klopp is said to be trying his hardest to try and reach terms with the midfielder, but it seems apparent that Can has his heart set on a move away.

And earlier this month, even though no concrete news has been reported on a potential move, Steven Gerrard even let it slip live on BT Sport that Emre Can was moving from the club.

Speaking after Liverpool's 5-0 triumph against Porto a few weeks ago, Gerrard said: "We'll have to see what happens. Emre Can is leaving but (Naby) Keita is coming in."

JUVENTUS GIVE CAN AN ULTIMATUM

Reports have suggested on numerous occasions that his most likely landing spot is Juventus, with Sky in Italy even stating that the two parties had reached a deal in principle over the move back in January.

However, with neither side officially announcing the deal, it seems that the move is in limbo.

But reports in Italy have offered an update to what is actually happening between the two parties.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Juventus are losing patience in their move for Can due to the amount of time the saga has gone on.

It has got to the point where the Turin based club have now issued an ultimatum to Can, giving him seven days to agree terms with the club.

To try and speed up the process, Juventus chiefs want to meet with Can's representative, Reza Fazeli, to try and get a deal sorted next week.

The Italian giants are prepared to offer the 24-year-old a five-year contract worth £8.8million annually plus bonuses, but will pull out of any deal if it is not concluded in the next seven days.

It seems we may know more about the future of Emre Can by the end of next week.
