The Toronto Raptors bounced back from a rare home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks by beating the slumping Detroit Pistons 123-94 on Monday night. The win sees them improve their home record to 25-5, which is the best in the NBA.They also remain the number one team in the Eastern Conference at 42-17, half a game ahead of Atlantic Division rivals the Boston Celtics.DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry each scored 20 points and Serge Ibaka added 19 as they produced a second-half surge to blow the Pistons away.Statistically, the Raptors have one of the best second units in the league and they gave them another big spark in this game too.Pascal Siakam added 11 points and provided energy on both ends of the floor. But the moment of the night belonged to reserve big man Jakob Poeltl.Midway through the fourth quarter, the center received the ball from Delon Wright with his back to the basket, but immediately spun and dribbled right to the rim where he flushed home a thunderous one-handed dunk on Detroit All-Star Andre Drummond.

It got the Toronto players off the bench and sent the crowd inside Air Canada Centre into raptures.

The 22-year-old has been part of an exciting and productive bench unit for the Raptors all season and after being on the receiving end of a few posters this year, it must have felt nice for him to finally produce one of his own.

The Austrian is in his second year in the league after being drafted with the ninth overall pick in the 2016 draft.

He's averaging 6.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game for the Canadian franchise.

Poeltl has made himself an important member of the Raptors rotation this year and has played significant minutes at almost 20 a night.

He has developed into a reliable player for Dwane Casey, particularly on the defensive end where he prides himself on protecting the rim.

Along with youngsters Wright, Siakam and Fred VanVleet, Poeltl has made a huge difference to Toronto with their contributions off the bench being crucial to their success so far this campaign.

The Raps return to action on Wednesday night as they travel to face the Orlando Magic in Florida.

With a small lead over the Celtic in the fight to secure the number one seed, every game will count as we get to the final stretch of the season.
