Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has a new opponent in mind for his retirement fight.

If you recall, former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida called out Bisping for a fight after his bout against rising prospect Eryk Anders via split decision at UFC Fight Night 125 from Arena Guilherme Paraense in Belem, Brazil back on February 3, 2018.

Bisping lost in the main event of the UFC 217 PPV (pay-per-view) event on November 4th in New York at Madison Square Garden to former UFC welterweight champion and current middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre by submission.

However, he is continuing with his pro-MMA career. He then lost to Kelvin Gastelum UFC Fight Night 122.

While Bisping entered the fight at first, he now has his sights set on former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold.

He explained why he wants this fight during a recent edition of his Believe You Me podcast (transcript courtesy of MMA Fighting). Here is what he had to say:

“If that motherf**ker wants to throw down at 205 [pounds], yeah, we can entertain that, buddy,” Bisping said. “I’ve got no problem knocking you out again.”

“I exposed Luke Rockhold,” said Bisping. “I knocked him out. David Branch nearly knocked him out. Yoel knocked him out. I quite literally took his soul, so if he wants me to do it again, that is one that would stoke the fires so to speak.”

“I’ll fight him at 205, I’ll fight him at 185,” concluded Bisping. “I’m not bothered. That’s if I’m gonna fight again, if the deal is right. Fortunately now, I’m in a good place.”

“I still love fighting. Fighting’s what I do, that’s provided me this platform and I still feel like I’ve got at least one more in me. I’ve got more than that in me but I’m just saying from my business perspective maybe one more makes sense, maybe two more, maybe no more. We’ll see what the future holds if the deal is right.”

Bisping has gone on record by stating that he would like to have his final fight in London. Ironically, the promotion is slated to return to England on March 17 for UFC Fight Night 127 at The O2 Arena.

However, when tickets went on sale for the event, Bisping noted on his official Twitter account that he would not be fighting at the event. Time will tell if a bout between Bisping and Rockhold actually happens or not.
