Since re-joining the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade had not yet shown a glimpse of his vintage self.On Tuesday, in his sixth game back, that all changed against the Philadelphia 76ers.The 36-year-old exploded for a season-high 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting and also added three steals, a rebound, an assist and a block in 25 minutes. He knocked down 2-of-4 three-point attempts and converted all five of his free throws. In many ways, he looked a lot like himself from five years ago.By glancing over the box score, it may seem like he had a solid overall game. But, it’s important to know that 15 of his points came in the fourth quarter and two of them came in the final seconds when he hit a beautiful step-back jumper to put the Heat up by one.Check out the graceful play below and keep an eye on how he was able to create enough room to hoist it up:

With the score knotted up at 100 after Wade knocked down three free throws with just over 20 seconds left in the game, he inexplicably intentionally-fouled Ben Simmons. Since the Sixers were in the bonus, it sent Simmons to the line, where he knocked down one of two attempts. Philadelphia was now up by one after what seemed to be a surprisingly-boneheaded play by the veteran.

But then, obviously, Wade made everyone forget about the lapse in judgement when he rose up over Simmons and delivered the most clutch shot of the game which sent the Miami fans home happy.

Here’s another angle of the shot and the immediate reaction of the crowd:

After the game, Wade put the win into perspective.

Wade’s mother and sister were in attendance, which made the moment a bit more special for him.

Impressively, he had beat the buzzer in the third quarter, trimming Philadelphia’s five-point lead at the time to two. Therefore, he clearly had the confidence necessary to deliver the heroics on Tuesday.

With the win, the Heat improved to 31-29 on the season and are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference heading into Wednesday. Interestingly, they’re just 4.5 games out of third place in the East and just 3.0 games separate the 4-through-8 seeds in the conference. Therefore, anything can happen down the stretch.

It remains to be seen if Wade’s clutch shot will shift the momentum in Miami’s favor moving forward. If it does, the team will likely move up in the standings in the coming weeks. If not, it'll simply just be another memory that Wade made in South Beach.
