The Houston Rockets are on a roll as they're in the midst of a 13-game winning streak and hold the number one spot in the Western Conference.

At 47-13, the Rockets own the best record in the NBA and are hoping to end the regular season with the top seed and enjoy home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Golden State Warriors have earned this privilege over the last three years but Houston is ready to change the script and end their dominance.

As general manager Daryl Morey admitted earlier in the year, they're "obsessed" with beating the Dubs as they know they'll have to overcome the men from the Bay Area in order to win a championship.

The acquisition of Chris Paul in the summer significantly boosted their title hopes and he has already made a huge impact this season.

CP3 has formed a devastating backcourt partnership with James Harden and has proven many doubters wrong about how they could play together as two ball-dominant players.

With the roster they've assembled and the type of basketball they're playing, Harden believes this represents their best opportunity to be crowned NBA champions.

"This is the year. For sure," Harden told ESPN's Shelley Smith in an exclusive interview when asked what his expectations for the Rockets are this season.

The six-time All-Star says this is the best team he's ever been a part of and has praised the work of the front office in putting together a squad capable of challenging.

"The front office -- [general manager] Daryl Morey and [CEO] Tad Brown -- those guys did an unbelievable job," Harden said. "From last year, bringing [Eric Gordon] and [Ryan Anderson] over. Then obviously adding [Chris Paul] and [PJ Tucker] and [Luc Mbah a Moute] and then you get [Gerald Green] and Joe Johnson.

"This is probably the best team I've ever been a part of, from top to bottom. The chemistry that we have, included with the coaching staff -- I mean, we're having a lot of fun."

Houston's next encounter will see them make a return to Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Clippers for the first time since their controversial and heated encounter last month.

Harden missed the clash through injury but was present to see the altercations both on and off the court as tensions ran high in Paul's return to face his former team.

"I was there, and I didn't like it at all," Harden said. "But I'm happy to be on the court tomorrow and help my teammates."

With both teams still having something to play for, it should be another fascinating encounter and a hostile atmosphere.
