Although John Cena's journey to WrestleMania, Roman Reigns' shots at Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey's debut appears to be dominating the headlines at the moment, an interesting sub-plot for WrestleMania 34 is unravelling.

The Miz is just 59 days away from becoming the longest reigning Intercontinental champion of all-time, accumulatively.

With eight Intercontinental reigns in the bag and a world title scene on Monday Night Raw that is all about Reigns heading into 'Mania, some big names are looking for gold elsewhere.

It seems as though some big stars are landing on Miz's doorstep and Seth Rollins announced after beating the Hollywood A-Lister last Monday that he wants a shot for the IC title in New Orleans.

Finn Balor pounced on Miz after that match and also picked up a victory over the champ, although Rollins indicated it was a hollow win following his exploits.

Although previous reports had suggested that Braun Strowman was in line for a one-on-one programme with The Miz at 'Mania, Rollins and Balor are now expected to take part in a triple-threat match for the title.

So, what happens to Strowman? According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, he has the answer.

WWE are planning to do a fatal-five-way for the Intercontinental title and joining The Miz, Balor and Rollins in the fray will be Strowman and his recent rival, Elias.

Elias currently has the top two selling shirts at WWEshop.com and there is no denying his growing popularity. Getting him in a major programme is wise.

Rollins was originally supposed to face his partner Dean Ambrose at the Grandaddy of Them All, but the latter's injury stopped that story developing. Jason Jordan was meant to be a direct replacement for Ambrose in that story, but he went down injured too.

Making use of two popular stars such as Rollins and Balor for a mid-card booking is an exciting move from the company, but the likelihood is, Strowman will win the belt.

If it was just Strowman and The Miz, nobody would buy that Strowman could lose that match, therefore, adding other men to the match makes the outcome a little more unpredictable.

There's no word yet whether this will be the token ladder match the WWE tends to give fans at WrestleMania, but are you excited to see these five in action?
