In recent days, there have been many reports about the future of Rey Mysterio in the WWE regarding a possible match at WrestleMania 34 later this year in New Orleans, and his recent scheduling activity could suggest he will be at 2018's Showcase of the Immortals.

Mysterio made his return to the WWE earlier this year at the Royal Rumble, where he entered the match at number 27, managed to eliminate Adam Cole from the match and was part of the final six before he was eliminated by Finn Balor.

Since his Royal Rumble appearance, many WWE fans have been wondering if The Master of the 619 will be returning to the WWE for more appearances. Recent reports have suggested that he could have a match at WrestleMania later this year against none other than John Cena.

While there are doubts over whether or not he will be facing Cena at The Showcase of the Immortals (since he has heavily been linked with a match against The Undertaker), a possible appearance at WrestleMania 34 for Mysterio has taken another step forward towards happening.

According to Wrestling Inc, Mysterio was scheduled to appear at the upcoming CRASH event during WrestleMania weekend on April 6. However, updated advertising released this week shows that Mysterio is no longer on the poster or on the card for the event.

Mysterio still has other scheduled appearances on other wrestling shows between now and WrestleMania, such as his NJPW match against Jushin "Thunder" Liger on March 25, but the fact he's now free on the weekend of April 6 opens up a possible appearance at The Showcase of the Immortals.

While a match with Cena at the show is unlikely since he's expected to be feuding with The Phenom, and the fact Mysterio will be competing on an NJPW show just two weeks before the big event, just having him on the show would be something fans would love WWE to book.

Mysterio only wants to work on a part-time basis if he signs with the WWE once more as well, which will also have a factor in his booking in the company. Either way, simply having a Mysterio match at WrestleMania would be awesome.
