Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has been loving his time at spring training with the Yankees so far, posting multiple pictures on his social media accounts and going yard at batting practice. However, nobody thought he'd actually play in a game! In a surprise move, the Yanks gave Wilson an at bat in Friday's matchup with the Atlanta Braves. The Pro Bowl signal caller pinch-hit for Yankees star, American League Rookie of the Year Aaron Judge, marking the QB's first professional at bat since June 2011. But, it didn't exactly pan out how he would've liked...

After getting the count to 2-2, Wilson struck out swinging on a 93-mph fastball while facing Braves pitcher Max Fried, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

He also got worked over on the above 72mph curveball by Fried in an entertaining at bat. Though he struck out, Wilson actually looked pretty accomplished at the plate and received a rapturous reception from the crowd as he entered the playing field.

The Seahawks star described the experience: "I used to go crazy when Derek Jeter walked up to the plate," Wilson said. "To have that feeling and experience, I'll never, never forget that. It always be a memory of mine, forever."

His teammates seemed to enjoy it too, "It was cool to see...We were anticipating it all day" said 2017 NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton.

The Yankees acquired Wilson in a trade with the Rangers last month, and despite previously stating he wouldn't make an in-game appearance, his debut came to fruition following communication with Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider.

"He reports in impeccable condition. He's extraordinarily dedicated to doing everything right. ... Some guys are maybe traveling all over the world. He's playing ball. He's playing baseball. I don't think there is anything wrong with that at all." Carroll said.

Wilson nearly chose baseball as a career before settling on football and was drafted in 2010 by the Colorado Rockies whilst still in college. He has attended spring training camps with the Rockies, Rangers and now the Yankees every year since, except 2012 due to his preparations for the NFL draft.

The 4-time Pro Bowler clearly still loves the game and has been lapping up the opportunity to be at camp with the storied franchise over the past week.

He even launched multiple home runs during batting practice last week!

It's unlikely Wilson will do a Tim Tebow and make a full go at playing Pro Baseball, but that's largely because he's an elite quarterback in the NFL. Regardless, the 29-year-old seems to have loved his time in with the Yankees and even got to hang out with Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson!
