Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is already considered as the greatest shooter in NBA history and there's no doubt he'll hold many of the three-point records when he eventually retires. The two-time MVP set a historic mark in the 2015-16 season when he became the first player to knock down 400 threes in one campaign. It was a truly astonishing achievement and it set him apart from all of the sharpshooters to have ever graced the court. In Friday night's encounter against the Atlanta Hawks, Curry created another piece of history by further etching his name into the record books. The five-time All-Star drained his 200th three of the campaign and became the first player to hit that mark in six consecutive years. To put it into perspective, in the history of the NBA, there have been 37 players to have hit that many shots from beyond the arc for at least one season - 13 of whom have done it multiple of times.

No one, however, has ever pulled it off six times and definitely not in successive campaigns.

But Steph has once again shown why he is the greatest shooter the game has ever seen by making it look so easy.

Ray Allen, the league's all-time leader in three-pointers, made 200 or more triples on five occasions (2000-02, 2005-06), but not consecutively.

Curry will surely overtake Allen as the leading marksman in NBA history one day and it will take something special for anybody to ever reach the Warriors star.

Despite the record-breaking night, things ended on a sour note for the 29-year-old as he failed to complete the game due to an ankle injury.

He tweaked his right ankle after accidentally stepping on the foot of teammate Zaza Pachulia.

With the big Georgian once again making headlines for a clumsy play on Russell Westbrook recently, Curry jokingly told reporters after the game that he didn't know whose foot he'd landed on.

Even though he was unable to finish the game, the point guard did still do enough damage to Atlanta which led to a 114-109 Dubs win.

In just 24 minutes of action, he posted 28 points on 8-of-15 shooting and 4-of-9 from deep, to go along with three assists and two steals.

His fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson hit a couple of three-pointers to bring his season total to 196.

With four more makes, he'll mirror Curry's achievement of hitting 200 in six straight years.
