Weightlifting can be a very strenuous sport, especially on the body's of individuals.

Not only do they put a lot of pressure on themselves due to their body mass, they also put a lot of pressure on themselves during substantial lifts during competition.

And that is exactly what has happened during a recent event.

Incredible scenes have been captured at the 2018 Arnold Sports Festival tournament in the US as Russian weightlifter Mikhail Shivlyakov's nose started to profusely bleed while attempting a near half-ton deadlift.

While attempting his 426kg deadlife, Shivlyakov, from the immense strain he put on his body, bled so profusely from his nose that it caused quite a scare for those watching.

The competition in Colombus, Ohio, shows off incredible feats of strength, with world-record breakers winning £3,600 and a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

With that as a very inspiring motivation to win, the Russian strongman began his lift, and when his nose began to pour with blood, Shivlyakov continued on, completing his lift, and walking away like a hardened soldier.

In an event with very entertaining showcases of ridiculous strength, it was Shivlyakov who stole the show, who many believed was going to win, given the insane amount of weight he lifted for his deadlift.

Watch the crazy event unfold in the video below.

Credit to him, but my word that cannot be healthy.

However, in a horrible twist of fate, the 426kg lift did NOT win the event.

Icelandic lifter Thor Bjornsson, who many know as "The Mountain", successfully completed an unreal 472 kg lift, which broke a world-record for the most amount of weight ever deadlifted in competition.

Despite losing, the headlines will circulate around Shivlyakov and the bizarre nose bleed that many people will not be able to stop thinking about, but the Russian strongman should be highly commended for a valiant effort.
