Barcelona's march towards reclaiming the La Liga title continued on Sunday night with a crucial victory against Atletico Madrid. Two draws in Blaugrana's previous four league matches had opened the door for Diego Simeone's side, who prior to yesterday's match-up were just five points behind the league leaders. But Ernesto Valverde's men managed a narrow victory to clinch a vital three points, courtesy of an impeccable free-kick by Lionel Messi. That means Barcelona are now eight points clear of Atletico at the top of the La Liga standings, and 15 points above rivals Real Madrid. With Barcelona still yet to taste defeat this season, Valverde's men have just 11 games to go to create history as they go in search of becoming the first side to go an entire La Liga campaign unbeaten.

BUT BARCA FANS WEREN'T ENTIRELY HAPPY

In what was a crucial game at the top of the table, you would expect fans at the Nou Camp to be as supportive of their players are possible.

But, that was not the case, with fans of the home side booing one of their own players, Andre Gomes, throughout the game.

After Andres Iniesta went off injured in the 36th minute, the Portuguese entered the field to replace him, but was immediately greeted by a chorus of boos.

Although some fans tried to drown out the boo boys with cheers, the booing was strong enough to be heard on multiple occasions during Sunday's game - including in the clip below.

MARC-ANDRE TER STEGEN WAS NOT HAPPY

And on one particular occasion, the jeers of the Nou Camp crowd brought out an angry reaction from one of the home players.

Barcelona's German goalkeeper Ter Stegen was visibly angered by the jeers, and on one occasion reacted by holding his hands out whilst shouting 'come on' to the crowd.

No-one deserves to be booed by their own fans, and it's good to see Gomes' teammates stand up for him and confront the fans for their actions.

VALVERDE ALSO RESPONDED IN A SIMILAR MANNER

And Barcelona boss Valverde was also upset by the fans booing, also waving his hands in the air and shouting a number of expletives directed at the boo boys.

GOMES STILL THANKED CROWD AFTER THE GAME

But despite being the subject of boos for most of the game, Gomes still took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the Nou Camp crowd, claiming that their support made the team feel 'invincible'.

"Thank you culés. Your support makes us invencible!" Gomes wrote. "Step by step we get closer to what we want. #ForçaBarça #FCBarcelona"

Fair play to Gomes. Let's hope he can prove his critics wrong in the near future.
