The 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame class this year is shaping up rather well with names such as Goldberg, The Dudley Boyz, Ivory, and Jeff Jarrett. Now a new name has entered the fold. Earlier today (Mon. March 5, 2018) it was reported by WrestleVotes that sources confirmed to them that Hillbilly Jim was rumored to be getting inducted into this year's 2018 Hall Of Fame:

Shortly after that report, Bleacher Report confirmed the news that Jim would, in fact, be inducted into this year's Hall Of Fame class.

Although Jim never won a championship during his time with WWE, he was a prominent figure on WWE TV during the 80s when professional wrestling was running rampant.

Jim had this to say to Bleacher Report on the news that he would be joining the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame class:

"I didn't have that on my mind whatsoever," Jim told Bleacher Report. "For a moment or two, I was knocked back on my heels. Basically, I was speechless. It was a whole lot for me to digest quickly."

"My character represents the people," Jim explained. "It was always a very doable and easy character to step into," Jim said.

"I'm from this part of the country. I know a lot of country people. I know what that translates to. I did the best I could to bring that to the ring.

"It's a lot like I really am in person. I'm a happy, excitable kind of character. And I just wanted to denote happiness."

WWE eventually confirmed Jim's induction into the Hall Of Fame with a statement of their own on their website:

"Hillbilly Jim was a country boy plucked from the WWE Universe to be a Superstar. Now, he’s going to be a WWE Hall of Famer.

"As first reported by Bleacher Report, Mudlick, Ky.’s favorite son is the latest inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018.

"Hillbilly Jim joins Goldberg, The Dudley Boyz, Ivory, Jeff Jarrett and Warrior Award recipient Jarrius “JJ” Robertson on the list of those who will be honored on Friday, April 6, in New Orleans during WrestleMania 34 Week."
