Southend manager Steve Tilson is hopeful that Franck Moussa, Scott Spencer and Damian Scannell will sign new contracts at Roots Hall.

Midfielder Moussa, striker Spencer and winger Scannell are all out of contract this summer and have been offered new deals and Shrimpers boss Tilson hopes the trio will follow Johnny Herd by putting pen to paper as the Essex club prepare for life in League Two.

"We've been speaking to Franck and his agent for a while now." Tilson told the club's official website. "We have also been in discussions with Damian and Scott's representatives about extending their deals."

He added: "Obviously I want to keep them and hopefully we can make that happen."
