Man United may have secured a vital three points in the final seconds vs Crystal Palace thanks to a blockbuster goal from Nemanja Matic, but the main hero was undoubtedly David de Gea.

De Gea has been absolutely extraordinary between the sticks for Jose Mourinho's side this season, having saved his side on numerous occasions.

And he was at it again on Monday night.

With the scores locked at 2-2 with 15 minutes remaining, Roy Hodgson's men looked as if they were going to retake the lead after Christian Benteke powered a header towards goal.

The Belgian even wheeled away in celebration as his effort went towards the United goal, but he was denied by an impeccable save by De Gea who somehow managed to claw the ball away from danger.

THE SAVE

Understandably, Twitter absolutely blew up, with many expressing their disbelief at the save.

Gary Lineker was one high profile name that commented what an extraordinary save it was, and De Gea's heroics were also recognised by Jamie Carragher after the game.

"This is a great save from a normal goalkeeper, for David de Gea it's a good save." Carragher said Monday Night Football.

"For most goalkeepers, it's a great save. He is that good a goalkeeper. He is the best goalkeeper in the world in my opinion. I would expect him to make that save but that shows how good he is."

DIMITAR BERBATOV'S MESSAGE TO DE GEA

And it seems De Gea's save also went down well with former teammate at Old Trafford, Dimitar Berbatov.

Speaking on Instagram, Berbatov credited Man United for the comeback and Matic for his wonder-goal, but he devoted the majority of his praise to De Gea, who he called 'superhuman'.

The Bulgarian said: "Man United never give up, great comeback. Matic, you should shoot more from outside the box. Unbelievable goal.

"And De Gea, you are superhuman man. You can catch a bullet."

Very deserving praise from Berbatov. The footballing world has almost run out of superlatives for De Gea, who has proven he is by far and away the best goalkeeper in the world in the past few years.

His save crucial save vs Palace last night only epitomises that further.
