NFL free agency is on the horizon and one of the big offensive players that will be available for teams to bid on this year will be tight end Jimmy Graham.

Reports have stated that the Seattle Seahawks are unlikely to tag or offer Graham a new deal before the deadline on March 12, meaning on this day, the tight end will become an unrestricted free agent, and free to speak to any team he chooses.

While Graham has regressed overall in recent seasons due to being 32-years-old and due to his injury history, he’s still a quality player on the field. He’s a dangerous player in the endzone, as he scored 10 times last season with the Seahawks, and he’s still better than the vast majority of other tight ends in the NFL.

There are quite a few teams in the NFL as well that have a need at tight end next season, and with him being the best option on the free agency market, there shouldn’t be a shortage of options for him despite the setbacks mentioned above.

Here are five teams who could push to sign Jimmy Graham in this year’s free agency.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints need to upgrade at the tight end position and what better way to do it than bringing Graham back to the place where his NFL journey began. Graham hasn’t played for New Orleans since 2014, but it would be great to see him catch passes from Drew Brees once more before it is too late.

The Saints need another pass catcher in their offense to take the pressure off Michael Thomas, and Graham can certainly fill that need for them. He would find it easier to get open as well thanks to Alvin Kamara in the backfield.

Miami Dolphins

Julius Thomas has not managed to recreate the hype he had when he was catching passes from Peyton Manning all those years ago at the Denver Broncos, and Miami should have seen it coming with the way he performed during his time with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Dolphins need to move on from him and bring in a more productive tight end. Graham is that guy. He'll be great for the team in short yardage situations, which will be a need if Jarvis Landry leaves the team this offseason.

Green Bay Packers

The Packers haven't signed a big name in free agency in years, and with the NFC North not exactly being an easy division anymore, they need to give Aaron Rodgers some weapons on offense, especially at tight end after the whole Martellus Bennett situation in 2017.

Enter Graham, who would certainly fill a need at tight end. A big reliable target like Graham for Rodgers in the endzone could be exactly what Green Bay needs in order to get back on track in the NFC.

Houston Texans

The Texans haven't had a solid tight end since Owen Daniels left following the 2013 season, and with C.J. Fiedorowicz contemplating retirement after multiple concussions over the past two years, the team might need a new tight end.

Graham could be a fantastic target for Deshawn Watson in short yardage situations and in the endzone to get him out of trouble, as well as take some of the workload off of DeAndre Hopkins.

Dallas Cowboys

Jason Witten is a great tight end, but he will be 36 years old before the 2018 season and isn't the same player he once was, and Dak Prescott needs more receivers on offense in order for the Cowboys to go back to the playoffs.

Graham would be a fantastic add for Dallas as he would give the team another threat in the endzone, give the team a strong reason to play two tight end formations, as well as take some of the pressure off of Ezekiel Elliott in short yardage situations.
