England youth international Luke Williams has been handed a first professional contract by Middlesbrough.

The 16-year-old, who became Boro's youngster first-team player in more than a century this season, is one of six Academy graduates to be handed deals.

Williams' England youth team-mates David Atkinson, Ben Gibson and Bruno Pilatos have also been rewarded with four-year contracts, as has another 17-year-old, Matthew Dolan.

Eighteen-year-old Paul Weldon has signed a two-year deal. All will turn professional on July 1.

Striker Williams made five senior appearances this season, the first of them as a substitute in the Coca-Cola Championship trip to Barnsley on December 28, and started the final two games of the campaign.
