Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is being linked with a summer move for Caner Erkin.

The Turkish international winger has had a fine season on loan at Galatasaray, and Liverpool are believed to have registered their interest parent club CSKA Moscow.

Erkin is regarded seen as the next superstar of Turkish football, making his international debut as a teenager in 2006. The left sided attacker, who can also play in the wing-back position, represented his country at several stages of his youth career and earned a first senior call-up in 2006.

The 21-year-old has gone on to make 14 appearances for his country thus far, and is sure to earn many more caps in the future.

At club level, Erkin was signed by CSKA for £3.5 million from Manisaspor. He made a good start to his time in Russia, winning two Super Cups and appearing in the club's Champions League runs.

Galatasaray signed the youngster on a season long loan in August 2009, but failed to take up the option of a permanent transfer before the end of the season.

This has left Erkin open to transfer moves from a number of european suitors, with Liverpool and Espanyol the first to register their interest according to IM Scouting sources.

Benitez's financial situation is relatively unknown, but a €4 million fee would appear to signal good business if the Spaniard could secure a deal.
