When you’re talking about the best teams in WWE right now - or over the past year - it’s difficult to leave Sheamus and Cesaro out of the conversation.Alongside The Usos, they have done a fantastic job of making the tag team division what it is today, even though you could argue that WWE has made a mistake by overlooking some talented teams who probably deserve fair chances at competing for the gold and get involved in some intriguing storylines. However, the decision to pair the two talented singles stars proved to be a brilliant move as they’ve steamrolled through the competition on Monday Night RAW including the likes of The Hardy Boyz, The Revival - even Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan. This means that they’re heading into New Orleans, Louisiana next month at the Superdome as the RAW tag team champions.

RAW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS

Considering they’ve beaten everyone, it came as no surprise that Sheamus took to Twitter to lay down an open challenge for WrestleMania 34. Since then, the likes of The Dudley Boyz and even The Young Bucks have teased that they’re going to answer the open challenge.

Although the rumours earlier this week suggested that the plan was to have two singles stars team up to take on The Bar, a new report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer suggests that WWE could make the decision to not have them involved in a match at all and place them in non-wrestling roles instead.

NO MATCH?

It’s a shame if this does happen as they’ve worked brilliantly in the tag team division all year and deserve a tag team championship match at the event, but Meltzer claims that they could be involved in an angle instead.

He said: “Right now, the plan is for no match with Sheamus and Cesaro at ‘Mania, but for them to be part of the show in an angle of sorts, but they are part of a lot of things on the RAW side that are still in flux.”

What Meltzer meant by that is that WWE also might keep Braun Strowman out of a match because of the current Roman Reigns situation. If The Big Dog isn’t able to compete, then The Monster Among Men will be his replacement but if he can compete, there’s a chance Strowman could simply be in an angle too.

Meltzer also went on to speculate that if Jeff Hardy is able to return in time for WrestleMania, then The Bar could defend the gold against Jeff and Woken Matt Hardy.

If not, then we might only see Sheamus and Cesaro in an angle and not in a match. Unlike their SmackDown LIVE counterparts in The Usos who are expected to battle The Bludgeon Brothers for the championships.
