Since the All-Star break, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has opted to start JaVale McGee at the center position instead of Zaza Pachulia and he has had a positive impact on their current winning streak. The Warriors' 110-107 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night was their seventh consecutive victory and it improves an impressive record with McGee in the starting lineup. With the big man as a starter, the Dubs are a perfect 11-0. He brings an energy and athleticism that Pachulia lacks and he often makes big plays that get both his teammates and the crowd going. He provided this once again against the Spurs as he delivered one of the highlight plays of the game.Early in the first quarter, he got the fans inside the Oracle Arena on their feet as he collected a beautiful behind-the-back pass from Klay Thompson and threw down a monster dunk on Davis Bertans.

Even the seven-footer was considerably hyped after the flush as he gave a roar and a fist pump in the direction of Bertans.

Now in his second season in Oakland, the 30-year-old is proving that he still has value to add having spent much of the year on the bench and playing limited minutes.

McGee is averaging just 4.3 points and 2.2 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game but he often brings a spark when he's on the court in the form of blocks, rebounds and huge dunks.

It's no coincidence that the Warriors are undefeated when he starts and he can certainly expect to be part of the starting five for a bit longer in the final stage of the regular season.

But the victory over San Antonio came at a price for the Oakland-based outfit as Stephen Curry suffered another ankle injury and only played two minutes following an awkward landing on a layup attempt.

In his absence, Kevin Durant took on the responsibility and inspired his team with some huge buckets down the stretch, which included 14 straight points in the fourth quarter to close out the game.

He finished with 37 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks. The reigning Finals MVP has now set a career-high for swats in a season with 108, surpassing his previous best of 105 in the 2012-13 season.

The win moves Golden State to 51-14 and just half a game behind the Houston Rockets in the race for the number one seed in the Western Conference.

They will now embark on a challenging two-game road trip where they'll take on the red-hot Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
