A lot of football fans have been keeping a close eye on the career of Neymar in 2017/18.

The Brazilian's €222m move to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in the summer was one of the biggest moments in the history of the game, setting into motion a new era of ridiculous spending.

Ever since the deal, people have wanted to see whether Neymar can match the ludicrous price tag and he's been pretty darn good in France.

He's scored 19 goals and recorded 13 assists in just 20 Ligue 1 games and his absence was certainly felt in PSG's 2-1 loss at home to Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Their exit from the Champions League has prompted a lot of people to discuss the future of Neymar, who is currently sidelined until May with a foot injury.

And, yesterday reports emerged that the Brazilian superstar was actually seeking an immediate return to Barcelona.

Mundo Deportivo report that Neymar has already discussed a possible comeback with players and executives at the Camp Nou.

The report states he was unaware of how inferior Ligue 1 is to La Liga and misses playing with Lionel Messi, the man who's shadow he was so desperate to escape.

BARCA FANS VOTE WHETHER THEY WANT NEYMAR BACK

After the news, Mundo ran another piece in which fans of the Catalonia-based publication could vote whether they want the 26-year-old to return.

The results were pretty emphatic.

A whopping 67% of fans do not want him to return in the summer, with fans clearly content with having Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele as the supporting acts to Messi and Luis Suarez.

WOULD MESSI TAKE HIM BACK?

The Argentine forward has also said this season that he feels this Barca side is now more 'balanced' without the enigmatic Brazilian.

"Without Neymar we are more balanced,” Messi said.

“His departure led to a change in the way we play. We have lost a lot of our offensive potential but we have improved in defence.

“We have more balance and this allows us to be more solid.”

If the fans and Messi wouldn't welcome your return with open arms, it's probably best to avoid it. Enter Real Madrid.
