Preston have made an enquiry about Peterborough defender Craig Morgan.

Former Posh boss Darren Ferguson is now in charge at Deepdale and is keen to be reunited with the highly-rated Wales centre-back.

But any potential move is likely to have to wait after Preston were hit by a winding-up petition from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.

"Preston have apparently been interested in Craig for the last six months," Posh director of football Barry Fry told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.

"We have had an enquiry from the Preston chairman, but they have yet to make a bid and with the problems they have off the field they are unlikely to offer enough anyway."
