The official attendance at the Emirates Stadium for Arsenal vs Watford was 59,131.We can definitely confirm that wasn’t that many people inside the stadium with plenty of empty seats on view. But those people that did turn up would have seen a brilliant performance from one of Arsenal’s most-criticised players - Mohamed Elneny. The Gunners eased to a fairly comfortable 3-0 victory over Watford on Sunday lunchtime but it was Elneny that impressed throughout. They Egyptian kept the home side ticking over with some brilliant incises forward passes. Yes, we said FORWARD.Elneny is often accused of continuously passing backward or sideways but he helped create attacks with brilliant balls into the likes of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. And he was also pretty useful defensively as well.In fact, he was so good that Arsenal fans bombarded Twitter with compliments after seeing his display. While some of them were tweeted very firmly tongue-in-cheek, the reaction demonstrated just how well Elneny played.

ARSENAL FANS REACT TO ELNENY'S PERFORMANCE

Check it out:

While Elneny was pleasing Arsenal fans with his performance against Watford, he also received plenty of plaudits for the way he reacted to an image of a young supporter crying after the Carabao Cup final loss to Man City.

He wrote on Twitter: "Listen, your tears are so precious for all of us.

"For the sake of you and the sake of all the gunners’ fans I promise you to fight to draw the smile on your face."

It seems Elneny is brilliant on and off the pitch right now…
