Nolberto Solano is set to be offered a new contract by Leicester.
The 35-year-old former Newcastle midfielder joined City in January on a six-month deal and manager Nigel Pearson wants him to stay on at the Walkers Stadium next season.
"I would like to keep Nobby, most certainly," Pearson told the Leicester Mercury. "There were a few eyebrows raised when he came in but I think he has shown what he can do. His performances have been excellent. He has been fabulous for us."
He added: "The quality and experience he brings, and how he uses it, have been invaluable to us."
Pearson has released Astrit Ajdarevic, Robbie Burns, Alex Cisak, Billy Kee, Carl Pentney and Levi Porter, while Stephen Clemence has retired.
