Jeff Hardy is now one step closer to finally making his return to the WWE after nursing a shoulder injury for the past several months.

Hardy's wife, Beth, noted on Twitter that she dropped off Jeff this morning at his final physical therapy session. Jeff is also scheduled to return to training at the WWE Performance Center later this month, however, his recent car accident may have hindered those plans:

Back in October the former RAW Tag Team Champion underwent surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. Initially it was expected that the former WWE Champion would miss up to six months due to the injury.

That means that Hardy is likely to miss WrestleMania 34. Matt Hardy is now playing the "Woken" character on WWE TV in Jeff's absence, which means when Jeff does return it could be under his old "Brother Nero" character.

With Matt and Jeff both using their old "Broken" gimmicks it could lead them on a path back to the RAW Tag Team Titles, as they dominated the Indy Tag Team division before they signed with WWE using the gimmicks.

Last month Jeff Hardy was cleared by his surgeon to return to the ring. All Hardy needs now is to get the green light for a return from WWE's doctors. He recently underwent an evaluation in Birmingham, Alabama and everything reportedly went well.

The fact that Hardy has been recovering so well as of late leaves fans with some slight hope that we could see hardy appear at WrestleMania. His brother is currently embroiled in a feud with Bray Wyatt on WWE TV.

If Matt takes on Wyatt at WrestleMania this year perhaps there's a slight chance that Jeff could get involved in the match to assist his brother in picking up the victory.
