Jose Mourinho caught everybody off guard with his second rant in two days after victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday night.Despite scoring a 2-0 win, Mourinho seemed more incensed about his team's progression to the FA Cup semi-finals than their elimination from the Champions League. An upbeat interview after the Sevilla defeat was followed up by an angry condemnation after the visit of Brighton. However, perhaps Manchester United fans should have seen the rant coming. After all, Mourinho had made the headlines on Friday with a similar rant that spanned no less than 12 minutes during a routine press conference.Paul Scholes though the Special One crossed a line, too, noting: “I didn’t really like what he said about previous managers, what they’ve achieved or what they’ve not achieved.”

Jose Mourinho praised Matic & Lukaku on Friday

And when Mourinho went at it again after the Brighton match, Scholes proceeded to note: “It’s the most angry I’ve seen him after a game to be honest."

There seems to be one similarity between the two rants, though, and it was picked up by United fans on Twitter during their FA Cup quarter-final.

One of the rare positives Mourinho drew from during Friday's press conference was the performances of Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku.

Matic & Lukaku were United's star performers v Brighton

The Special One noted: “I prefer to say that Matic and Lukaku are performing at a high level since day one until the last match. I cannot tell you the ones that are not performing."

Then, rather uncannily, Mourinho was proven absolutely correct with Matic and Lukaku shining as the Red Devils' star performers against Brighton.

Matic bagged an assisted for his Belgian teammate in the first-half, only to scoop a goal of his own during the second-half. It wasn't missed by United fans, either - check out the reaction below:

The United boss has often referred to so-called 'untouchables' at his clubs in the past and it seems his summer signings of Matic and Lukaku fall into that category.

Nevertheless, he was thoroughly vindicated during their FA Cup clash with their respective showings proving they are indeed 'performing at a high level.'

Fans have been saying it for some time about Lukaku, too.

Despite a tricky patch during November and December, the 24-year-old has come into own in recent weeks and has attracted plaudits for his unwavering effort to cause.

Meanwhile, Matic finally seems to be coming into his own at the club as well as proving a brilliant role model for Scott McTominay.

You can fault Mourinho for losing his cool after the game but he had his predictions spot on before it.
