There has been a little blimp in the form of the Golden State Warriors recently due to the fact they're playing without Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson, three of their main big four players on the court. Yet their other big four member, in Draymond Green, has been able to shine without them.

Green has almost had a triple-double performance in both the loss against the Sacramento Kings on Friday and the win against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday. He had 14 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and two blocks against the Kings, and 25 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, a steal and a block.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was really pleased with Green for his intensity on Friday, and the same can really be said about his performance on Saturday as well. Kerr gave the current Defensive Player of the Year a huge compliment by calling him the 'heart and soul' of Golden State.

Kerr said, according to the Mercury News' Logan Murdock: "Draymond is our heart and soul. He's out there battling, blocking shots, getting steals. He was amazing.

"I call Draymond the heartbeat of our team for a reason. He was out there doing what he was doing tonight and playing with energy and focus. He's tremendous and really leads our team, no matter who’s out there."

With Curry out with an ankle injury, Durant out with a rib injury, and Thompson out with a fractured thumb, the performances of Green have been necessary in order to keep the team in the hunt for one of the more preferred playoff spots in the Western Conference.

If the power forward can stay on top of his game and keep Golden State in their contests, then the team's form shouldn't drop too much that they find themselves out of one of the two top spots in the conference.

They're still way ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers in third, but the gap is closing, so good performances are still needed in each and every game.

The Warriors will be looking to close the gap on the Houston Rockets at the top of the Western Conference when they play in San Antonio against the Spurs on Monday night.
